Don’t Have an E-Reader?
Maybe it’s a money thing. Maybe you’re slow to adopt new technology. Maybe you’re one of those purists and you’ll move to e-books when they pry the paper ones from your cold, dead hands.
You can still read my books.
Amazon offers free Kindle reading apps for your PC, Droid, iPad, etc. Or, if you prefer to shop at Barnes & Noble, download a free Nook reading app. You can adjust font sizes and backgrounds on these apps. I don’t think you can do Text-To-Speech, at least on the Kindle app, but give it time… I’m sure that will happen eventually.
And if neither of those work for you, you can download from Smashwords in any format you choose, including PDF. With a PDF document, you can print it out on your computer if you wish.
As for dispelling the myth that all independent authors write junk, well… All can say is that you can download my samples and read my excerpts and my blog and decide for yourself. I hope you like what you read!

Just finished Silver Thaw on my phone (Kindle app for Android). I’m not really a fantasy reader but I liked Silver Thaw very much. So maybe your writing isn’t quite up to the Anansi Boys (whose is?), but it definitely does not suck. Sorry, I’m responding to two posts in one. It kept me reading. And it finished too soon! I mean the story was done, but I wanted more.
Thank you, Beth! I’m glad you enjoyed the story. I know every writer has a dfferent voice and such, and we shouldn’t compare… Sometimes you just read good stuff and realize how far you have to go in craft, you know?
And FYI, I have ideas for that world of Silver Thaw… I might return there someday…
